Behr Sand Pearl in the Great Room

Painted the first coat on 3 of the walls in the great room. So much easier, more forgiving and oh do I LOVE the color!! Second color for these walls tomorrow, then Hal and can temporarily install the Lopi gas heat stove to get us some warmth!

In the second photo you can see a makeshift gas heater. It helped but is inadequate for the lows that are coming.

Picked the Great Room Wall Color

I finally picked the paint color for the living room/dining room/kitchen combo but not before testing 4 more samples on the wall. The chosen one is Behr Sand Pearl and it's top row second from the right.

I also started painting the master bedroom and hall in Behr Dynasty Thundercloud. Dynasty is the $50 1 coat paint they tout on TV. Yes, it's pretty much one coat but it dries too fast to avoid roller marks so I will get the regular Behr Premium Ultra Scuff Defense for the remainder of the house and probably go over the Dynasty walls because of the obvious marks on the wall. Very, very annoying..

I also had my painter whom I hired to do the remainder of the ceilings in the house Behr Permafrost in the master bedroom. I have always wanted to look up at blue sky in the morning. It's obvious here with white walls but now it looks white against the blue walls!

Living Room Wall Color

Still trying to find a wall color, so far no luck. These are all colors from Behr. From left to right: Wax Sculpture, Dainty Lace, Roman Plaster and Varnishing Ivory.

4 colors in the kitchen
This is the ceiling in the master bedroom, it's called Permafrost, it's very, very pale. I always wanted to wake up to a blue sky, I think this will work well. This is taken at night with a ell phone flash, it's much prettier and paler in person.

Yard Light

The guy who did our septic field suggested we should put in a yard light while we had trenches dug. He provided the pole for it which turned out to be a huge utility pole, I have no idea how tall it is, over 30 feet I think. It's out by the pond which wasn't very full when this photo was taken at night. I suspect there may be more light reflection now. I'll have to test it out. It's 15,000 Lumens, all LED.

night of the install
Speaking of ponds, this is how it looked yesterday afternoon after about 4 days of slow filling just leaving the flowing well open.

This photo shows the location of the light pole.
Originally Hal was supposed to install the light while the pole was on the ground but the septic guy was worried the light might get damaged if something went wrong will erecting the pole so he brought his man-lift over and said he wouldn't charge for the rental. Hal is the tall guy seemingly attached to the pole wiring it up.

This is how deep it is after the digging was finished. It's probably about 8 feet at the lowest point.

Finished depth
Kaylee checked out the pond shortly after the heavy rains.

Time to go over and see how deep it is today.

Possible Countertop Change

Fell in love with Cambria quartz Berwyn, it's white and gray with green veins and flecks of silver. Photos don't do it justice. They didn't have a sample at the flooring store but they did have Crowndale which is similar, I think it goes well with the cabinets and the chosen flooring, Frontier, at bottom of the photo. Just in case, I threw in a lighter colored flooring at the top of photo called Antique Pine, it also goes well. Pricing will be the big issue, it's probably not in the budget, so what can I sacrifice if I really want this counter?

kitchen samples
Perhaps on the island with coordinating laminate on the periphery. I sent away for more samples.
